Here's your first look at the men who will compete for the affection of Miss New York, come Oct. 8, when I Love New York 2 premieres on VH1. We'll be unveiling individual shots of all the guys in their respective groups (the Mama's Boys, the Online Casting and the Regular Casting) all week, but for now you can feast your eyes on the group shot (click to enlarge) and some outtakes below.
And yes, that's a little person standing at New York's side. He's one of her potential suitors and he goes by the name Midget Mac. Seriously. No, really.
Admittedly, New York's new look isn't very different from her old one. She's rocking new hair, a firmer bod and her breast implants look more...settled. That's something, at least. The shot above is the first official promo shot for I Love New York 2, which is set to debut Oct. 8 on VH1. We bring it to you first and there's more -- check the gallery below for exclusive shots from the first episode. At the very least, do yourself the favor of checking out the nails Sister Patterson's rocking. Clearly, the woman aims to terrify.
For a good part of last month, the Hollywood Hills were alive with the sound of...shrieking. And laughing. And crying. Sometimes one after another in an emotional avalanche. It could only mean one thing: New York was in town.
Now that the filming of I Love New York 2 has wrapped, we can give you this exclusive first look at the reality TV diva and her new pad. You can see that things are a little different this time around – for one thing, the guys are divided up and put into rooms based on how they were cast (there's a regular casting bedroom, an Internet-choice room and a "Mama's Boys" room for the boys Sister Patterson selected). For another thing: there's a gazebo. For yet another thing: New York's got a new weave! That's even better than installing a Jacuzzi!
When I visited the set toward the end of filming, I watched New York on a double date (if you can call it that) out in her pool. Her temper flared, her tears poured, her cackling reached unthinkable decibels. Best of all: she asked on more than one occasion if her eyelashes were still on. New York in more false-eyelash drama? It's good to be home.
While New York is busy picking through the potential candidates for I Love New York 2, her one who got away isn't sleeping either. The AOL Black Voices' Everybody Hates Marcus blog recently caught up with New York's one-time man, Tango, who talked about New York and his upcoming project with Mr. Boston, among things. Here are two choice quotes:
On his proposal to New York:
"I did it pretty much because I was making a statement. I used marriage to make a statement. Not only did I win, but I really, really won. I kind of used marriage as a pawn and I am totally against that. That's the only time I did something that I really regret."
On an upcoming show with Mr. Boston:
"Our project is going to focus on our relationship. Me being more urban and I guess a lot of people say a cooler type of person and you have the total opposite in him. It's not going to focus on the black and white but more on the personality conflicts we have. I feel he needs to make social changes and at the same time, I kind of experience some things myself that I didn't even think about it."
Tango says his Odd Couple-esque series with Boston is in the "pre-production process," so keep an eye out for it. You can also check the video below to catch Tango talking about his "theme song" for Black Music Month and read the full Everybody Hates Marcus Tango interview here.
If you missed the I Love New York 2 - You Cast It special, have no fear: you can watch a bit of it below. Catch producers, Sister Patterson, Courtney/Goldie, Chance, Real and New York herself all weighing in on New York and her potential suitors.
And don't forget, there's still time to submit your profile for a chance to appear on I Love New York 2. Hit ILoveNewYork2.com for details. And, as New York says during the special: nose-pickers and bisexuals need not apply.
New York is headed back to your TV screen much sooner than expected: tonight (Thursday, May 10)! At 10/9c, VH1 will air the I Love New York 2 - You Cast It special, which will chart New York's progress this far in finding bodies to fill her mansion. Helping New York pick through the online and casting-call applicants will be some familiar faces. Among them will be Courtney/Goldie from Charm School and Flavor of Love, Chance and Real from the first season of I Love New York and, of course, New York's lovably terrifying mother, Sister Patterson.
Remember: the I Love New York 2 - You Cast It special airs tonight, May 10 at 10/9c on VH1. And though New York is making headway in choosing her dudes, there's still time for you to submit your application at ILoveNewYork2.com.
Call it a ploy for another 15 minutes. Call it a further bid to prove his heterosexuality. Call it crazy, or whatever else you want, but the fact is that booted IdolSanjaya Malkar may be heading up his greatest American swindle yet by trying out for I Love New York 2. ILoveNewYork2.com now features a profile purportedly created by Sanjaya. Included are some shots, a video of him playing with Sour Patch Kids (is that a comment on New York's personality?) and a brief message that includes the line, "...When I saw the opportunity to get jiggy with New York, I saw a way to even top my pony-hawk!!" It's now the No. 2 highest-ranked profile -- it could be No. 1 within hours.
Of course, it's not likely that Sanjaya could make the show -- at 17, he's too young, for one thing (contestants must be at least 21). Additionally, there's no evidence that the profile isn't the work of an outside prankster -- there are no exclusive images and the aforementioned video has been available on YouTube for over a month. Still, can you imagine the sparks that would fly if he did make it on the show? We'd have another 12 Pack in our hands, if you get my drift. Wink, wink...awkward smile.
It took us a while, but we finally caught up with Heather, Charm School's second cast-off (also known as Krazy). She's a busy girl, stopping recently in Kentucky, Detroit and Ohio. By day, Heather has been lecturing at high schools and fielding interviews at radio stations. By night, she's been appearing at clubs. It's like Flashdance without the welding or gyrating.
After the jump, Heather talks about her time on Flavor of Love and Charm School, the dress-stealing incident that ended up getting her the boot and, of course, her music career. She is nothing, if not poised. For real!
Guys 21 and up, if you have love for New York, you have a chance to show it in person. The producers of I Love New York 2 are holding a casting call Sunday (May 6) at the New York club Home (532 West 27th Street , New York, New York). Auditions will be held from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and big personalities are a must. Of course, New York herself will be in attendance, handpicking the dudes that will vie for her affection. "I don't know if I'm going to go for a thug, a nerd or Enrico Suavé this time," she says. "I'm gonna peel my eyes back and keep them wide open this time. The winner is going to be the one who loves me the most."
Of course, if you can't make it (or just look better on the Internet), you can still audition via ILoveNewYork2.com (but keep in mind that only five of the 20 men who make the show will be chosen from the site -- you may have a better chance if you show up in person).
After getting her heart broken three times on national television, New York is hungry for televised romance! Casting for the second installment of I Love New York is already underway and you can take part in the action and end up on the show. Guys interested in taking a crack at the reality TV-dating game should visit ILoveNewYork2.com, where they can create a profile and post pictures, videos, biographical information and blogs as a virtual audition. Everyone else can vote on their favorites and leave comments for them. Because really, the only thing more fun than laughing at guys acting like fools on TV is laughing at guys acting like fools on the Internet. Get into it!
After a series of elimination rounds, five guys who auditioned online will make it on I Love New York 2, set to air later this year. But enough of what we have to say about this, here's a message from the HBIC herself, New York on what she's looking for in this new crop of men:
