Get ready for a big surprise...

The celebs - Traci Lords, Jeremiah Trotter, Kimberly Caldwell, Evan Farmer and Gilbert Gottfried

The setting - The Warson Asylum, a New England institution that housed the criminally insane from 1903 until it closed in 1987.

The back story - For 20 years, starting in 1960, Warson was terrorized by a paranoid schizophrenic, "Mad" Ray Golina . Ray stalked staff members and continued doing so even after he killed himself to avoid a lobotomy. Five years after the asylum closed, a security guard found a man lurking in the tunnels. The man claimed that his name was Ray Golina.

The objective - To determine which of these areas is the most paranormally active and find the heart of the haunting .

The scariest scare - Kimberly and Evan take a trip to the second floor to visit Frederick's Dormitory. They goof off with a wheelchair...

...but the fun and games end soon. They're told to approach the chalkboard in the room, where Ray would huddle. That board eventually was used as a way to get Ray to communicate with the staff. Kimberly is directed to use a method called "spirit writing." She's told to write "Are you still here?" Evan is told to leave the room and wait at the bottom of the stairs.

Kimberly is then told to move the chalk over the board in a loose motion, in an attempt to get the spirit of Ray to guide her hand. She says she isn't moving regardless of what she hears.

However, when she hears two loud bangs, she breaks that promise immediately.

What makes matters worse is some mumbling that Kimberly hears -- she's no longer all alone in the room.

Kimberly calls Evan who comes running to her aid. Kimberly tells him about the bangs and the voice -- she says she may have heard Evan's name being called. She cries as she tells Evan about her brush with the paranormal.

Back at home base, Gilbert laughs at the despair of his fellow celebs.

That's the spirit!

I think that would be so fun to be on one of these paranormal shows!!!! God, that would be so awesome and with a celebrity to!
Are the using special effects sometimes? Because it really kills the show, especially when that guy was reading names of convicts that use to be there but are now dead.

Did anyone notice that when Traci was in the attic, there were two instances when the shadow of the dummy was swinging prior to her knocking the stool out. The first time, when she said there was a temperature change and a strange sound, you can see a second shadow of a body swinging from a noose. The second one shows the dummy swinging before traci kicked out the stool. This happened just as they were telling her to do it. Was this a camera trick? Because if it was, that would take away some of the excitement.

this is the best show on vh1. whenever it's on, i have to watch it. i love this show.

It would have been a lot more enjoyable without Gilbert Gotfried.... wow his voice started to really annoy me. The show was interesting tho, and again, would love to have seen more of the uncut version of this and to see what THEY were seeing (hearing, etc), instead of seeing the celebrities themselves.

did you see the ghost rise up from the floor in the middle of the scream ,look close but its there. I have watched it five times just to be sure that I saw it as well as the others that are watching with me.
when kimberly is covering her eyes and screaming they show the floor around her and it is rising up from the floor its just cloudy but truely there .

Great show! I watch it every week! Most of the time its pretty creepy, but there are parts that can make you jump out of your chair. Sometimes they use miner special effects; creepy music, voice overs, and such. Only simple effects so that it can keep its reality touch. It could use some better celebrity's, considering in ever episode most viewers only know who one of the 'celebrity's' are. My thoughts? The longer this show goes on, the better the celebrity's will get.

i have recently have seen the epsode about the hawthorne mill witch totally freaked me out because i live in PENOBCOT COUNTY but did u notice that the widow at the dek had a refection of a person sitting at the desk EVEN WHEN NO ONE WAS AT THE DESK !!!! way creepy
