Celebrity Paranormal Project - Episode 3 - Scare of the Week

Cpp_3_9

The countdown to terror starts after the jump.

Er, actually that probably starts now. Or maybe this is the countdown to the countdown. And truthfully, it's more like a count-up. Whatever. Click...if you dare.

The celebs - Mariel Hemingway, Picabo Street, Tonya Cooley, Michael Bergin and Joe Piscopo.

The setting - The Walls, an abandoned maximum-security prison in the Deep South that opened in 1893 and housed the most dangerous criminals of its time.

Cpp_3_1

Cpp_3_2

The back story - The Walls was the was the workplace of Warden Tom Grisholm, the greatest mass killer to make his way into the facility. He is said to have been responsible for over 150 murders. In addition, he oversaw hundreds of prisoners executed, and hundreds more who died from violence inflicted by other prisoners and the warden himself. Grisholm shot dead in his office in 1921 by prisoner. He's said to still inhabit the facility.

The objective - To determine which of these areas is the most paranormally active and find the heart of the haunting.

Cpp_3_8

The scariest scare - Mariel and Joe head to Cell 14 in Cell Block C, the site of a fire prisoners set as an attempt to get the guards to unlock the cell doors. Warden Grisholm ordered his men to stand down, leaving the prisoners burning to death. The warden tapped his club on the bars, counting the dead bodies aloud. The sound of his night stick is said to ring through the walls.

After traveling through the prison's creepy courtyard, they arrive.

Cpp_3_11

Upon entering, they both smell smoke. Mariel is given the order to check out the cells in which the prisoners burned to death. Joe gets to stay downstairs, locked in a different cell. He couldn't be happier.

Cpp_3_12

Mariel walks up two flights and begins taping the club she's holding twice against each cell, just as Grisholm did. She starts counting after the taps. You can watch the progression of her despair in the following screencaps:

And for the full effect, here's the audio of Mariel counting up and breaking down.

Before Mariel started the counting, she said she felt a presence coming up the stairs. After, she said that while doing the exercise, she felt someone following her. Was there? Will we ever know?

Mariel and Joe reunite and make their way back to the central room with all of the other celebs. Mariel says she thought she might pass out, she was so scared. Tonya tells her, "Well, you look pretty." Mariel replies:

And all is OK again. There's like flattery to get you over a paranormal experience.

I understand drama sells but please try to make the episodes a little more realistic. Maybe focus on the key scary parts that do "indeed" happen and tell the actors to quit screaming!!!!!!!!

Derrick

You guys did awesome! I sat in front of my television wishing I was there with you! I would love to do the things you all were doing. KUDOS! I totally believe that you all experienced some really creepy stuff. I can't wait to have the chance to do something like this!

jennifer collingwood

this show is awsome, im a total fanatic about ghost stories and all the other shows like ghost hunters
you never see or hear anything. each episode I have watched I have done research on and is cool to read
about what I watched. I totally would love to go into one of these places {of course not by my self).

Eric

Where is that prison the walls, i wanna go

William

I just watched this episode tonight and after hearing something while watching this particular clip on the show as well, if you listen closely to the end of the clip you can hear what sounds like a voice/breathing/growling or something. I am really into this study and have done my own. So you may want to look into it if you havent already been doing so.

Silvia

This show is so freaky!!!

Mary R.

My kids laughed at me for watching this show. They say all the ghostly images I spotted (and which where not mentioned at all on the show) are special effects added later. So, what's the real story. Are special effects passed off as apparitions? In episode 3 I clearly saw a see-through image pass in front of a camera, also two see-through images of people walking along a cellblock.

george

dajha tery

that shit was scary ass hell i would never go on that show. i might because just to be scared.but that shit is not a joke.

Sandra Pineda

I watch this show every week. I have something to say about what Picabo Street had said. She made a comment to the effect of "people choose to be ghosts". That is not true. I have been able to communicate with the dead for quite sometime. When people die, the only reason they stay is because, 1: They do not know they are gone, and 2: they have unfinished business and want to try and give their family members a message. Another thing is people often wonder why around Halloween they may feel or hear more things than any other time.
This is because around this time, the veil between this realm and the next is the thinnest, making it easier for them to cross over.
Keep up the good shows coming, alot of people enjoy them.

alexandria

i love this show.

sheryl cote

It was really a believable cast this time. All the shows are very good, but so far,I enjoyed this one the best because you had cultured, intelligent people, that were also kind and considerate of each other's well-being. They also seemed to have faith in God. The way to really get a reaction from the spirits haunting each place is too pray more often! They cannot stand to hear the name of Jesus, because it reminds them of their eternal punishment that they themselves chose. Maybe, in future episodes, send in celebrities, a "GODSQUAD", with CONSTANT PRAYERS, and watch the demons really react violently and loudly! Taunt them for a change! Love the show.

donna Hahnan

I love this show!!

Tonya

This is a great show, but I feel that the investigators should use the Thermal Imaging Cameras more often since that seems to be where you can catch better sightings for the naked eye to see.

Mary

Kudos to the shows creator, what an unusual concept, though I wonder if it will be harder and harder to get celebs to participate! The third show's cast was wonderful, and I do believe their reactions are real. You can't fake the types of reactions these guys were having.

Rachel

hey, you guys should get all the celebrities that really got the spirits to come out together and send them to a haunted location to see what happens then. leave all the scary, whimpering celebs at home. you can't hear anything over them screaming. it ticks me off. LOVE THE SHOW THOUGH!!!

ashley

I live near the old psychiatric hospitol, and just looking at it is freaky. I pass it everyday going to my in-laws. They had every reason to be creeped and scared

Lisa

I love this show, I am addicted. It is on like 3-4 times a week the same episode and I watch it over and over, til the new one airs. I love it and I think it would be great to be able to do things like this. If you ever had a non-celeberty one I would so sign up. Keep up the great work.

unknown

I've been trying to do some research on the second episode about Nell Marley and "pearl" but when i search her nothing comes up, there are no reference sites and i heard somewhere that the asylum was Warsen Asylum and i just want to verify what asylum it really is.
i'd appriciate if you can e-mail me back with the correct name of the asylum.
Thank you

Quynh

I luv this show. Sometime I feel scare just to watch the show in my living room, I cant imagen how much im gonna be scare if I were in the show. :) Keep it up.

Jill

This show is the same as "Fear" that was on MTV about 7 years ago. I loved that show and was sad that they took it off the air. The only difference is that the MTV version used 'regular' people and not celebs. I hope this time it sticks! Its so exciting! I sit on the edge of my seat every time!

Michelle

I like the show, I just wish nobody would chicken out and not do some of the stuff.

mel thomas

I LOVE THE SHOW AND WATCH OTHERS LIKE IT. TO PUT CELEBRITIES IN PARANORMAL SITUATIONS IS INTRIGUING. IT MAKES THE RESEARCH MORE REAL. AND TO SEE THEM SCARED OUT OF THIER WITS LIKE 'NORMAL' PEOPLE IS PRICELESS. THEY HAVE TO LEAVE THIER EGOS AND PRETENSIONS AT THE DOOR. I WISH I COULD GO ON ONE OF THOSE MISSIONS.

samantha

I like this show ,my brother is gonna go stay the night at the ohio state informatory in march and i think that is haunted too . but i feel alot of places are haunted even homes . but love the show .

Deaan

I am an avid watcher of Ghost Hunters on Scifi, and have had personal experience with ghosthunting. I have now watched all the episodes of CPP and I have to say it is pretty fishy that so much happens each episode for the celebs to experience. Ever heard of air cannons, trip wires, etc??? Seems awfully "set up" to me.
I don't think the celebs realize they are being tricked, and their reaction is entertaining, BUT it is giving the authenticity of actual ghosthunting a bad name.
