Below, catch an exclusive preview of the VH1's upcoming Celebreality series, The Salt-N-Pepa Show. All the mystery that surrounded Salt-N-Pepa's disbanding earlier this decade will be answered in the show, which finds the pair reuninting and attempting to mend their severed friendship. Here's a blurb from the official press release on the obstacles they face:
Salt is angry about being unappreciated when they were together and Pepa blames Salt for breaking up the group. Their lifestyles are also polar opposites: Salt has indeed found God and is living a quiet life in Long Island with her husband while Pepa is still the party girl and desperately wants to re-capture the glamour of Salt-N-Pepa’s glory days. Can they overcome their differences long enough to heal their friendship and perform again?
The clip below comes from their first episode and features the tense reunion between Salt and Pepa that takes place:
The Salt-N-Pepa Show premieres Monday, Oct. 15 at 10/9c on VH1.

I am very happy to see the girls back together and and hope this can work out if they repeat what the other want to bring to the table. And that they are two beautiful women that have grown respect is the key.
God Bless you ladies

I totally understand Salt's position. When you love God with all your heart, mind and soul you have to walk away from what is sinful and sometimes people don't understand. God asked her to follow him no matter what and that was her choice, the right choice. I really like Pep too but God comes before everything.

I always wondered what had come inbetween Salt they just dropped off the radar screen in the heyday of their careers and there was no explanation as to why. I will def. watch this show...It seems as if Salt-N-Pepa can renew that closeness, and they have kept up the friendship~ if only on a basic, foundational level. The only problem could be Pepa's unsaved- status lifestyle and earth-bound worldview vs. Salt's now saved,God-centered worldview... if Pepa can't respect Salt's moral convictions, then things are gonna heat up~ on Pepa's part. I don't know if they can perform together again if Pepa isn't willing to sing New songs, because none of the old one's are really going to work for Salt anymore.... it would be really neat if they could do a gospel or modern worship song together!

I always love this group so my answer am I gonna watch it is a BIG YES. I think it is very good idea to have them work out the different issues that surrounded the group. Also they bring a freshness back to the rap game that we all know we need. They are both still beautiful women who are very strong and able to do whatever they put their mind to. I will be recording the show so that I will not miss an episode. It is good to see you again so VH1 keep up the good work and God Bless SALT, PEPA and Spin.

I've loved Salt n Pepa for years I still listen to their music and always will. I hope that they can salvage their relationship and make magic again. Remember Salt all music doesn't have to be explicit and vulgar. God has rap artists out right now too!! I am a fan for life.

I loved this group too but i totally agree with salt that she lives for God and she will not do anything that wont bring Him Glory. I respect her for that. I wish peppa could see that. I understand its hard for them both. Follow your heart salt and pepa i hope u two can remain friends even if their isnt anymore music from you too together.

I love Salt n Pepa! I grew up on them, they are one of best female groups ever to take the stage! I can feel Salt on there comes a time when we have to "grow up"! Stay true to yourself at all times! Pepa whats up with the new face!

What the hell happened to her nose. Just looking at Pepa makes me sick now! what was she thinking. She ruined her chance at any comeback.

I have always loved Salt and Pepa and I will watch every show. I think the show is good for them. I also think that Salt should follow her heart and what she feels is right. Pepa seems to be still living in the early 90s and one day she too will have to grow up. They don't have to loose a friendship because one has changed.

THIS SHOW LOOKS LIKE ITS GONNA BE SOOOOOO STUPID
Posted by: KEKE | October 11, 2007 at 02:49 PM
OMG, did Pepa got her nose fixed??? She should've done this a long time ago since she looks just gorgeous...! And about "Gods willing", i don't think the God i do love wants Salt or Pepa to be transformed into a boring person. She (Salt) choose to follow God, that's fine with me, but people needs to work in order to support themself and their family, and i'm not going to believe for one bit the God's willing is for you to become a lonely person, running from any fun in life, and a lot of the "Christian" (specially pentecostal), think the for you to be on "God's side" you have to become anti-social and boring, so wrong...!

I look forward to this show and the girls working out their issues, however, where is Spinderella in all of this? She, I'm sure, was just as affected by the dismemebring of the group as the other two. Does she not rate an explanation? Anyway, good luck.

why the hell is peppa tryin to pull off the michael jackson look? don't she know it don't look good? she look better b4

I love Salt-n-Pepa!!!! Those were my idols growing up in the 80's!! I wonder if they will answer the questions about Spinderella, there was a lot of drama going on with that. I remember Spin said that she doesn't get as much in royalties as Salt or Pepa, and they replied that she didn't start the group and go through all the B.S. that they did. I can't wait!!

salt is too much. i am 32 years old i grew up idolizing salt n pepa. those same songs she is now offended by are the same songs that got her the house, the car, and the ability to walk away and live comfortably. now let her tell it she is saved and those songs are beneath her but i'm sure the money made from those songs are good enough for her. pepa i'm sorry leave her alone she has no sense of the fact that you and her built something together that was supposed to be a everlasting cause as fan to me it is i can listen to all those songs today. salt has issues that have nothing to do with the group she just took it out on the group and obviously the fans lost as well. keep ya head up pepa you are a true rap pioneer.

Salt is totally wack. That kills me about so called holy rollers. They want the world to change for them and don't want to change at all for anyone. It seems to be Salt's way or no way. When you leave a person and you are a team, it doesn't matter you excuse your dead wrong!!! Salt said she was tire of being Pepa's money train. Truth be told the hottest one in the group was Spend, Pepa, then the so called money train. Performing in a church, that's so lame!!!!!! Get real!!! Salt stop hiding behind religion and face up to your mistakes and your life. If ya scared go to chruch don't perform "What a man"!!!!!!

I also grew up during S&Ps hip hop days. Their music was good. I did watch their show but with all the reality shows coming out, who's to know who is "real" and who is "acting" now-a-days? I think too many of these reality show participants are trying to keep their shows alive and/or either trying to get spin-offs.
Assuming the S&P show is a "real" portrayal... I think Pepa is very selfish. She needs to grow up and realize she ain't in her 20s anymore and start acting her age. If Salt chose God, that's her path now. Respect that. Would Pepa cuss in church? I hope not. I think Pepa is trying to jump start her bank account because she never got a spin off from the other VH-1 show she was on. (Sorry, the name escapes me now.)
Advice for Pepa:
1. Grow up. Grinding and dressing like a hoochie mama is not the only way to be sexxy.
2. Quit being selfish. Salt chose God and you should respect that. There is no Pepa without Salt. Who went looking for who?
3. Fans remember the old S&P, work on re-inventing the new S & P. It can be done.
For those comments that are posted critizing Salt for her new life direction, maybe you need to get saved yourselves to understand her position.
Say a friend of mine and I made big money back in the day selling drugs. Neither of us got caught and we have houses, cars, and other luxuries as a result to this day. But my friend wants to start back up to get more money. Should I because that's what made us rich now? Hell no...people grow up and relaize their mistakes and their view their lives differently. Salt is no exception.

Salt is a b***h! I understand her wanting to free herself of the pain she was going through back in the day but the way she went about it was really selfish and inconsiderate. And now she's acting all judgemental and what not. During the episode, I could just see in Pepa's face that she wanted to tell Salt where to stick her bible but she can't because it's about the money right now. Salt knows that and she's using it to her advantage which is again, selfish and inconsiderate.
Also, I don't really appreciate Salt saying that she's ashamed of the music that she made back in the day.
1. That was who she was back then, why regret it. Especially if you know that you're a different person today.
2. What she did then opened so many doors for female artists. She should be proud of that legacy.
3. God gave her those opportunities--then and now. It is through his grace that she was and is still able to do the things that she does. To reject that music is to reject the One who made it possible. God is the maker she is just the vehicle.
All in all, I don't think that this show was not a good idea for Salt because she really looks bad. She comes across as a selfish, self-righteous, judgemental, hypocrite. Go Pepa, keep doing ya thing ms. lady!

Oh and Salt talked all this crap about not wanting to be in the business and how it was destroying her and that's why she left....Does anyone remember her whack a$$ solo effort "Salt of the Earth?" If it was so bad for her then why did she try to go solo and flop?!? Truth is that they were a team and that neither one is going to go far musically without the other. If Salt doesn't want to do the music, that's fine. But she still needs to have some consideration for her teammate and stop trying to make this the Salt Show

"I'm her Moneytrain"?? That was beyond uncool! I've been a "fan"atic since Showstoppa and to hear those words truly hurt me. To Cheryl, I'm happy that you are staying true to your faith and yourself but do not forget this beautiful woman next to you that built you up and helped give you the beginning of the life that you now possess. I'm far from calling you a hypocrite, but remember "Shaking your Thang" is the business you chose to return to, get in or stay home. Pepa, you are the sexual fantasy of a generation. Please do not bend your head on camera to a nobody (no disrespect to the Brother) again. To pull an average man up to the stage and bend your head is so not correct.
